Horseshoe Bend History
An enriched rural city, for a short time known as Warrineserville, exploded in 1862 with gold miners’ seeking their fortunes. When the gold ran dry it became a prosperous ranching community and then a large logging trade town. Founded in 1867 it derives its name from a fertile U-shaped peninsula carved by the scenic flow of the Payette River.
Since those days, Horseshoe Bend has become an attractive community for affordable living for those looking to enjoy a more relaxed pace in life and affords fast easy access to public lands and rivers for recreation. If you're looking for some elbow room to live then it is only a short drive from Boise.
